01Method
- 1
Heat the oven to 500°F (260°C) and coat two large, sturdy baking sheets with non-stick spray. Avoid thin cookie sheets that may warp at high temperatures.
- 2
Submerge the potato slices in ice water for 5 minutes to draw out excess starch, then drain and thoroughly blot dry with paper towels.
- 3
Lay the potato slices in a single layer across the prepared baking sheets and coat the tops evenly with melted butter using a pastry brush.
- 4
Place the pans in the oven, immediately reduce the temperature to 450°F (230°C), and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the edges turn golden brown.
- 5
Take the chips out of the oven, season with salt, and serve straight away.
