01Method

  1. 1

Place warm water, salt, oil, flour, and yeast into the bread machine in the order given, then run the dough cycle. A few minutes into mixing, check the consistency — if the dough seems too dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until smooth, pliable, and non-sticky.

  2. 2

While the dough cycle runs, whisk together tomato paste, water, and three-quarters of the taco seasoning in a small bowl; stir in chili powder and cayenne pepper and set aside. In a separate bowl, combine refried beans, salsa, and onion; set aside.

  3. 3

Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks; drain off excess fat. Stir in the remaining quarter of the taco seasoning with a splash of water and simmer for a few minutes, then take off the heat.

  4. 4

Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  5. 5

Once the dough cycle finishes, turn the dough out and divide it into two equal portions. Press each portion into a 12-inch pizza pan. Spread the bean mixture evenly over each base, followed by the tomato sauce layer, then scatter the seasoned beef on top and finish with cheddar cheese.

  6. 6

Bake until the crust is golden and the cheese is fully melted, approximately 15 minutes, rotating the pizzas halfway through baking.
