01Method
- 1
Dice the rolls and soak them in warm water for approximately ten minutes, then drain well.
- 2
Peel and mince the onion and garlic cloves. Wash and dry the herbs, then strip the thyme leaves and finely chop the parsley. Wash, dry and deseed the peppers, then cut into strips.
- 3
Drain the feta and cut into cubes. Heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Oil a large baking dish measuring approximately 30 by 40 centimeters.
- 4
Squeeze the soaked rolls and combine with the ground beef, milk, egg, thyme and half the onion and garlic. Season with mustard, salt and pepper, knead vigorously for five minutes, then fold in the parsley and feta.
- 5
Using wet hands, shape the mixture into an oblong loaf approximately 25 centimeters long and brush lightly with olive oil.
- 6
Place the meatloaf in the prepared dish, arrange pepper strips with the remaining onion and garlic around it, and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 35 minutes. Add the tomato passata after ten minutes.
- 7
Stir the tomato sauce and adjust seasoning as needed. Slice the meatloaf and serve with the cooked rice.
