01Method

  1. 1

Gather all ingredients. Heat the oven to 325 °F (165 °C).

  2. 2

Trim away excess fat from the ham, then use a sharp knife to cut a diamond pattern of shallow cuts about 1 inch apart across the surface. Transfer to a roasting pan and place in the oven for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

While the ham roasts, whisk together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, and dry mustard in a small bowl until the glaze is smooth and uniform.

  4. 4

Pull the ham out of the oven and brush one-third of the prepared glaze evenly over the surface.

  5. 5

Return the ham to the oven and continue baking for another 20 minutes, applying the remaining glaze in two more coats during that time. Allow the ham to rest for 10–15 minutes before carving.
