01Method
- 1
Set the oven to 200°C. In a pan with a spoon of melted butter, cook the onion until golden. Let cool, then slice the potatoes thinly.
- 2
Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer the potatoes, salmon, chopped dill (reserving some for garnish), and onion in the dish. Season each layer lightly with salt and pepper.
- 3
Whisk the eggs, milk, and sour cream together. Season with salt and pepper, then pour the mixture over the layered ingredients.
- 4
Bake for approximately 40 minutes. Gently heat the remaining butter over low heat, skimming off the foam as it forms. Strain the butter through a fine sieve to remove milk solids. Fold the caviar into the clarified butter.
- 5
Top the salmon dish with the reserved dill and serve drizzled with the caviar butter.
