01Method

  1. 1

Add water, oil, dry milk powder, sugar, salt, flour, and yeast to a bread machine following the manufacturer's recommended order. Select the Dough cycle and let it run to completion. Transfer the finished dough to a lightly floured surface.

  2. 2

Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and stir together; set aside. Coat a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.

  3. 3

Stretch the dough into a 10x15 inch rectangle. Distribute the softened butter evenly across the surface, then scatter the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top. Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice into 12 pieces approximately 3/4 inch thick and arrange them in the prepared pan so they just barely touch. Drape with a kitchen towel and leave to rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, 30 to 60 minutes.

  4. 4

Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  5. 5

Bake until the tops are a deep golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.
