Prepare and measure out all ingredients before starting.
- 2
In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, half the cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger, and half the salt to form a marinade.
- 3
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, stir to coat, then cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- 4
Heat a grill to high and lightly grease the grate. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, discarding any remaining marinade.
- 5
Grill the chicken for about 5 minutes per side, until the juices run clear.
- 6
In a large heavy skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Cook the garlic and jalapeño for 1 minute, then stir in the remaining cumin, paprika, and remaining salt. Pour in the tomato sauce and heavy cream and let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes until thickened.
- 7
Add the grilled chicken to the sauce and continue to simmer for a further 10 minutes.
- 8
Plate the dish and top with fresh cilantro. Serve alongside rice.
