01Method

  1. 1

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. 2

Press the crescent roll dough into the bottom of the prepared dish, covering it completely, then poke the surface all over with a fork.

  3. 3

Place in the oven and bake until the dough is just beginning to set, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Meanwhile, cook the sausage with water in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it browns, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat and drain off any excess fat.

  5. 5

Coat a second skillet with cooking spray and set over medium heat. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper, then pour into the warm pan and cook until just set, 3 to 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Break the cooked eggs into smaller pieces with a wooden spoon, then layer them evenly over the dough base. Scatter the sausage on top and finish with an even layer of cheddar cheese.

  7. 7

Return the dish to the oven and bake until the crust is golden and the casserole is heated through, about 25 minutes.
