01Method
- 1
Gather all ingredients and heat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
In a 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion together, stirring frequently, until the meat is fully browned and the onion has softened, 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 15 minutes.
- 3
Stir the Thousand Island dressing, cheese, mustard, and half the salt into the beef mixture until well incorporated. Even out the mixture across the bottom of the skillet.
- 4
Distribute the chopped pickles uniformly over the beef layer.
- 5
Place the frozen tater tots in an even layer on top, then scatter the sesame seeds and remaining salt over them.
- 6
Bake until the tots are golden and crisp, the filling is bubbling, and the cheese is fully melted, 30 to 35 minutes.
- 7
Scatter the shredded lettuce over the top, drizzle with additional Thousand Island dressing, garnish with whole pickle chips, and serve immediately while hot.
