01Method

  1. 1

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Cover a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Combine the flour, brown sugar, walnuts, and melted butter in a bowl. Spread onto the prepared sheet and bake until the walnuts smell toasty, about 15 minutes, stirring once or twice. Press two-thirds of this mixture evenly into the bottom of the greased baking dish.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with the lemon juice until soft peaks form. Continue beating while gradually incorporating the white sugar until firm peaks hold. Gently fold in the strawberries.

  4. 4

In a separate bowl, whip the cream with an electric mixer until stiff but still smooth. Fold the whipped cream into the strawberry mixture, then spoon evenly over the crust. Scatter the remaining walnut crumble on top. Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight before cutting into squares.
